Body Found In Mission Viejo's Pinecrest Park: Sheriff

The coroner identified the body of a missing 13-year-old Mission Viejo girl, who was discovered Monday afternoon.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — A body was discovered in the heavily brushed area of Pinecrest Park in Mission Viejo Monday afternoon, Orange County Sheriff's Department officials said. The OCSD confirmed that the body found was that of missing Emma Pangelinan of Mission Viejo, missing since Sunday.
"We can now confirm that the body discovered today in the heavy brush area surrounding Pinecrest Park in Mission Viejo is missing juvenile Emma Pangelinan," a Mission Viejo sheriff's spokesperson said, Monday at 5 p.m. "At this time the death does not appear suspicious. A full investigation and autopsy will be conducted by the OC Coroner's Office. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Pangelinan family and friends."
Emma, 13, was reported missing at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. She was last seen in the area of Florence Joyner Park in Mission Viejo, near Alicia Parkway and Olympiad.
