Incredible footage shows the moment a vigilante in Ford Fiesta takes brutal revenge on two thugs trying to steal a moped.
The man is seen reversing his car at high speed into the pair, forcing them both to flee for their lives and crushing their bike.
The clip was captured on a CCTV camera which shows the date as August 6. It was sent to a Facebook page fighting the epidemic of bike theft in Britain but it is not known where in the UK it was filmed.
In the footage, two men on a moped park in a street at night and immediately target a bike to steal.
One of the moped riders, wearing a silver helmet, appears to be trying to take a lock off the bike.
Shortly afterwards, a silver car believed to be a Ford Fiesta, arrives on the scene.
The driver of the vehicle gets out and appears to confront the thieves. One of them, wearing a black helmet and red jacket moves aggressively towards the driver, forcing him back in to his car, which is driven off at speed.
The pair decide to flee on their own bike but before they can get away events take an amazing turn.
One of the men, presumably, spotting the approaching car, sprints away from the scene.
The Fiesta is then seen reversing at speed towards the remaining biker who, spotting it at the last moment, appears to jump out of the way just before the impact with the bike.
The thug desperately tries to pick up the smashed bike but, as the driver emerges from his car, thinks better of it and runs. Finally, the driver is seen inspecting the scene while making a call on his mobile.
The footage was uploaded by the UK Motorcycle Theft Protest Community page on Facebook on Tuesday, after it was sent in privately.
They captioned the post: 'What a hero! Two moped criminals stopped by a heroic civilian, watch until the end.
'Whoever you are, on behalf of the biking community. Thank you!
'You deserve a medal. That's the spirit.'
The video now has more than 157,000 views and hundreds of comments praising the unknown heroic driver.
