A 32-year-old man was beaten to death inside a Bronx home early Wednesday by an intruder armed with a baseball bat, police said.
Officers responding to a 2:44 a.m. 911 call found the victim on the second floor of a three-family house on Bayview Ave. near Bay Shore Ave. in Country Club, police said.
The victim, beaten about the head, was rushed by EMTs to Jacobi Medical Center but could not be saved. His name was not immediately released.
The 911 caller identified the victim as a man staying with her in her apartment, police said. She told detectives a man rushed past her, armed with what looked like a bat, and barged into the apartment, attacking the victim before running off.
No arrests have been made.
A police source said the victim has a lengthy arrest record.
