Rapper Nick Blixky, his debut mixtape less than a month away, was shot to death on a Brooklyn street, police said Monday.
The 21-year-old artist, whose real name was Nickalus Thompson, was blasted in the upper body and buttocks on Winthrop St. near Rogers Ave. in Prospect Lefferts Gardens about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, cops said.
EMTs rushed him to Kings County Hospital but he could not be saved.
Police recovered shell casings from the scene but have made no arrests.
Blixky, who lived about four blocks from where he was shot, was set to release “Different Timin,” his first mixtape, on June 3. Tributes were posted on Instagram in the wake of his murder.
Police said it wasn’t yet clear why Blixky was killed. He had two arrests on his record, both from 2018, one for gun possession and one for drug possession, and detectives are investigating if either case could be connected to his slaying.
