One of New York’s most prominent actors would want to portray Gov. Cuomo if there were to be a movie about the coronavirus pandemic.

Robert De Niro appeared on the virtual “Late Show” on Wednesday and, when he was asked by host Stephen Colbert who he’d like to play in a film about the pandemic, the actor selected Cuomo.

“He’s doing what a president should do,” De Niro said.

De Niro, 76, said he could envision Cuomo in the Oval Office in real life, but voiced his support for Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential race.

The “Irishman” star was also critical of President Trump’s handling of the response to the COVID-19 outbreak, calling him an “idiot.”

“There were many, many warnings, and we’re all paying for it now,” De Niro said. “It would’ve been bad, maybe, in some ways, but never like this.”

De Niro laughed when Colbert said the role of Dr. Anthony Fauci was already taken by Brad Pitt.

Pitt portrayed the infectious diseases expert on “Saturday Night Live” last month after Fauci joked with CNN about the actor potentially impersonating him.

  1. Anyone else notice De Niro dropped his Vaxxed movie he'd sworn to release and suddenly takes an idiots Hollywood stand against the president. Guess his autistic sons condition caused by vaccine is less important to taking the payoff and becoming tip of their Spear.
