A suspect in the attempted rape of a nurse visiting Manhattan to help in the fight against coronavirus was arrested after he turned on the victim’s stolen phone and police tracked him with the Find My iPhone app, authorities said Tuesday.
Jason Roberts, 35, was nabbed Monday and charged with attempted rape, robbery and burglary.
The 32-year-old victim, who lives upstate, was walking into the building on W. 149th St. in Harlem where she’s staying in an Airbnb unit when she was attacked.
Her assailant followed her into the building, punched her in the face and tried to tear off her pants. But the nurse fought him off and he ran away after snatching her phone, police said.
Roberts, who lives in the Bronx, has no prior arrests.
